Magical Monte Carlo

THE BRIEF

A three night trip for 14 lucky winners for a Channel marketing incentive to drive sales. With land, sea and air as the brief, the trip needed to include a short flight time, sun, a balance of exciting activities and time at leisure and good nightlife within walking distance from the hotel.

Day one

With a long weekend in Monte Carlo ahead of them, it would only be right to arrive in style! With 4 helicopters waiting, the group were whisked off to take in the beautiful panoramic views of Nice and then onto Monaco. On arrival at the Monte Carlo Bay Hotel, where the group would be staying for the next three nights, they were welcomed with a G&T overlooking the beautiful Lagoon pool, before enjoying a casual lunch on the restaurant terrace with views out to sea. With their keys in hand, it was time to get their shorts on for some time at leisure. The evening started in the fabulous hotel Blue Gin bar with a cocktail on the balcony, before heading out for a short stroll to dinner at the popular Avenue 31 for wonderful Italian food and impeccable service.

Day Two

After a delicious buffet breakfast and eggs made to order, the day started with the guests finding 7 beautiful vintage cars lined up at the front of the hotel. The group had a short briefing and a quick lesson on how to drive these stunning classic cars and then they were off. The first part of the journey took them around parts of the Grand Prix track before passing through the famous tunnel under the Fairmont to listen to the roars of their engine. The convoy headed up to Eze for coffee and pastries before continuing to St Paul de Vence for lunch.  With breath taking views of the traditional town of St Paul de Vence, guests enjoyed a fabulous lunch and drinks on the terrace at the 1 Michelin star, Alain Llorca restaurant. Fabulous food and fine wines were enjoyed before the group headed back to the hotel (on a coach of course!).  After a late afternoon around the pool, the group headed to dinner at the famous Café de Paris. With tables on the terrace, guests enjoyed the jovial service from the waiters and took in the wonderful atmosphere around them over a delicious meal. Following dinner, it was time to head to the famous Casino to try their hand at Blackjack and then onto Jimmy’s nightclub!

Day Three

Following a late night, there was a welcome lie in before guests were off to Monaco Harbour where two speedboats awaited them. With the open bar ready, guests kicked back as they cruised along the Cote D’Azur and headed to Villefranche for lunch. Located in a prime spot on the harbour front, guests enjoyed the famous bouillabaisse at the family owned, Le Mere Germaine. After a tasty lunch and stroll around the picturesque Medieval village, guests headed back to the hotel. For their farewell dinner there was a short stroll down the promenade to the trendy Zelo’s (now Twiga) where guests enjoyed an alfresco family style meal on the terrace whilst listening to the sounds of the DJ in the background. Following dinner, the music was elevated, and the guests moved inside to enjoy the electric atmosphere until the early hours of the morning.

Day Four

After a morning at leisure, it was time to check out. Guests enjoyed a fabulous brunch buffet and glass of Champagne on the terrace of Las Brias at the Monte Carlo Bay, before bidding farewell to Monaco and heading back to the UK.
