Mystical Marrakech

Client: Tech Company Channel Incentive

THE BRIEF

A three night incentive for 34 guests in June, with a flying time of no more than 4hrs that would give guests a new adventure, somewhere they might not have been, the opportunity to experience local traditions and be a part of excellent night life.

Day one

As the sun was setting over the Atlas Mountains, guests touched down in Marrakech ready for a weekend to remember. After a short transfer with Khalid, their guide for the weekend, there was a Moroccan themed cocktail waiting and guests were able to relax on the outside terrace of their new home for the next three nights, The 5* Sofitel Marrakech Lounge and Spa. Following a private check in and time to freshen up in their suites, guests met for pre-dinner drinks at the popular So Lounge which is on property. That evening, guests were immersed in the Moroccan way of life with a short stroll through the centre of the magical and lively Medina. Passing the snake charmers and fortune tellers, guests wandered through the colourful array of market stalls and took in the fresh smell of spices before arriving at a traditional Riad, where they dined outside around the stunning mosaic pool and savoured an assortment of authentic Moroccan salads followed by a classic Lamb tagine.

Day two

After a sumptuous buffet breakfast, guests climbed into their 4×4 jeeps for an adventure to the desert, and headed to a traditional Berber house where they were welcomed with a mint tea ceremony. As they continued their journey towards the Atlas Mountains, Lalla Takerkoust Lake was revealed. An oasis with breath-taking views, an infinity pool to cool off and jet skis at the ready! Equipped with their life jackets, guests powered around the lake on their jet skis and for those that preferred to soak up the sun, towels were laid out and the beers were on ice. After an exhilarating morning, guests set off for lunch where they enjoyed a traditional Moroccan BBQ under the beautiful olive trees at Kasbah by Beldi. A casual set-up, food a plenty and cold beers that were much needed after a hot morning in the desert. After returning to the hotel and some time at leisure, guests enjoyed their evening with an alfresco dinner at Bo & Zin, one of the hot spots of Marrakech located on the outskirts of the city. With the soft sounds of the DJ in the background, guests tucked into their Asian inspired cuisine whilst enjoying the fantastic atmosphere and great service.

Day three

It was time to explore the desert again but this time in 2-seater buggies! On arrival at the Agafaye desert, guests were given their safety goggles and helmets, and set off on their adventure across the rough terrain. As they reached the peak of their climb, a bespoke Bedouin tent emerged in the distance where lunch would be waiting for them. Set with Moroccan style tables and a lounge area to relax after lunch, guests enjoyed a traditional Moroccan feast in this tranquil setting. Back at the hotel there was time to relax around the pool amongst the lush gardens, or for those that wanted to explore the mysterious city and try their hand at bartering, Khalid was on hand. An incentive in Marrakech would not be complete without a farewell dinner with traditional belly dancers! With just a short walk to dinner at the trendy restaurant, Comptoir Darna, guests enjoyed a lavish meal and experienced a belly dancing show like no other before heading back to the hotel to their VIP table at the So Lounge for cocktails and dancing until the early hours.
